Windows Service Management

Windows service is a long-running executable that performs specific functions and which is designed not to require user intervention. On Windows 2000/XP, Services MMC snap-in lists approximately eighty services. While on Windows Vista, it has more than one hundred and twenty services. With LanHelper's bulk service actions and optimized user interface, it's never a maintain nightmare to manage Windows services on numerous remote computers.

Services management. View service, install service, start service, etc.

Eight bulk actions are available for services management: View services, start services, stop services, stop services, pause services, continue services, restart services, startup type, delete services.

  • View services
  • List all Windows services or specified ones on remote computers, and display service information including service name, display name, service status, startup type, account, description, module, etc in service view.

  • Start services
  • Start specified services on multiple computers.

  • Stop services
  • Stop specified services on multiple computers.
     
  • Pause services
  • Pause specified services on multiple computers.
     
  • Continue services
  • Resume specified services on remote computers, if they have been paused.
     
  • Restart services
  • Restart running services or start stopped ones on remote computers.
     
  • Startup type
  • Modify service startup type to be Automatic, Manual or Disable.
     
  • Delete services
  • Delete specified services on multiple computers.
     
  • Install services
  • Install service on remote computers, include file deploy. If the service executable file does not exist on remote computer, LanHelper will copy it to a shared folder on remote computer.

    Service view

    The service view displays information obtained by View Services action. From here you can perform the Windows services management in a more flexible way. You can select any number of services from one or more remote computers, and then start, stop or delete them, and more.

  • List all Windows services on specified computers.
  • Start all selected services on multiple computers.
  • Stop all selected services on multiple computers.
  • Pause all selected services on multiple computers.
  • Resume all selected services on remote computers if they have been paused.
  • Restart all selected services if they are running, or just start it if they are not running.
  • Change startup type of all selected services to Automatic, Manual or Disable.
  • Delete all selected services on multiple computers.
  • View or modify service properties, and directly operate dependent services.
